Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Krause founded 1220 Capital Management in 2021. As Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Krause oversees all aspects of the firm’s activities, including business development and direction, development and execution of the firm’s trading and investment strategies, and the firm’s risk management controls. Prior to founding 1220 Capital, Mr. Krause worked in KPMG LLP’s asset management and family office tax practices. He also worked for Wirth Capital LLC, a Minnesota-based private equity search fund. Mr. Krause earned a BSB in Finance & Accounting from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, and a Master of Accounting & Data Analytics from Villanova University. He also completed the ISU International Business Program at Vienna University of Economics and Business in Vienna, Austria.

Partner & Director of Capital Development

Dr. Wightman joined 1220 Capital Management as a Partner in 2025 and serves on the firm’s Investment and Portfolio Risk Management Committee. As Director of Capital Development, he is responsible for growing and developing the firm’s capital and investor relationships. Dr. Wightman also brings a unique perspective to a financial firm: formally trained as a dentist, he maintains a part-time practice performing surgical dentistry for patients in underserved geographical regions. Dr. Wightman graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He has practiced dentistry in the state of Alaska and the Iron Range of Northern Minnesota, among other locations.

Director of Business Operations

Mr. Nash joined 1220 Capital Management in 2024. He is a member of the Investment and Portfolio Risk Management Committee and the Operational Risk Management Committee. As Director of Business Operations, Mr. Nash plays an integral part in crafting and executing the ongoing business strategy and operational decisions of the firm. As part of his role, he developed and implemented many of the firm’s current operational best practices. Before joining 1220 Capital, Mr. Nash worked in healthcare and small business entrepreneurship. He graduated with a BS in Biology from Crown College with a second Major in Biblical Studies and a Minor in Chemistry.
